Ghost Story

My name is Joel and I'm 19 years old. Three years ago something happened to me that I never will forget. Im gonna tell you the story, trust me or trust me not, its your choice.

I had just turned 16 and was in school as usual. When I came home my mom sat on the couch and cried. I got very surprised and asked her what has happened.

- Sofia is dead. She fell in the shower and hit her head in the ground, the hospital called and said that she died this morning.     

I didn't know what I should say. Sofia was our nanny to my two little sisters, Emily and Amanda. I can't say that I was in love with her but there was something with her that I liked very much and she had also said to me that she liked me back. She had big brown eyes and long curly hair that she often had in a tassel on her head.

Sofia was a really good friend to my family and sometimes it felt like she was a part of our family.

I didn't say anything to mother, I just went to my room. I had Sofia in my head the hole night.

Two weeks later when everyone in the family had realise that she wad dead, I was in the city with my friend Tom. We walked around in many stores and ate in a cafe. But then, when we was in a clothing-store I saw her. I saw Sofia, I didn't know if it was she but anyway someone who looked exactly like her. The long brown hair in a tassel and the blue Betty Boop T-shirt. I just stood there and looked at her from behind, but then I decided to go to the girl and see if it really was Sofia.

I started to walk towards her. Even if it just was a couple of meters between us I got time to think so many thoughts,

What am I doing? Sofia is dead, it's impossible that it could be her! Shall I go back? No, I can not go back now, so embarrassing. I can just check out her face and then go back quickly. That's what I'm gonna do!

When I was almost there, when I looked up to see her fece, she was gone.

She was totally gone. I looked around me and tried to find her but she wasn't anywhere. I was totally lost what just had happened. On just a half second she disappeared. I went back Tom.

Did you saw the girl with blue skirt over there? I pointed with my finger to the place there i saw her.

No, here is no girl. You know that we are in a boy-shop, right? 

The rest of the day I saw here many times, in the book store, on the parking and on McDonalds. But every time i saw her she disappeared.

Now it was the 13th February, the day before Valentines Day.

In school we get a task that we on Valentines Day should make someone happy. Our teacher gave me a piece with a name on and I got Vanessa.

My task was to surprised her and give her a present.

I didn't know what I was going to give her but I decide to go to the town.

In one store I found a little pocket with jelly-heart. It looked so sweet so i decide to both it. Already when I should both it, the weird things started to happened.

I didn't have enough money even if i just got my birthday-money on my card, but then my neighbour Tony came and both if to me.

The second thing that happened was that i felt on the street and all jelly-heart felt on the ground.

I got very sad but decided to both a flower with the money i had left. 

When I came home I saw that the flower had withered. I got so angry so I throw the flower in the dustbin.

The next day when it was time to go to Vanessa's house I didn't have anything to give her.

I decided to make a card and I write "Happy Valentines Day Vanessa! I hope you get a very good day, because you are sweet as sugar! :)" on it. I don't know why I write the last words but whatever.

When I came to her house and had just started to knock on the door when something gripped my neck. I couldn't breath or talk. I tried to tear it away but it was so strong. I started to run, i don't know why but my legs just started to run. I run to the forest behind Vanessa's house. I fell on a branch and landed under a tree. It felt like I'm was going to die because the thing pushed so hard on my neck. When I laid under the tree it felt like someone sat on my stomach. I felt how the panic started to grow in my body and i threw with my arms in the air. I opened my eyes for the first time and then i saw it. I SAW IT, or shall i say I SAW HER! I saw Sofia on my stomach!

She sat on my stomach and hold her hands on my neck. Her eyes shone red and she stared right in my eyes. She looked very angry. I didn't know what to do because she hold so hard on my neck, then she started to scream.

- Traitor! You said that you loved me! Leave her or die!

Her voice was so strong and scarp so it hurt my ears. She still had the blue Betty-Boop T-shirt on.

Then I saw that I still hold the card to Vanessa in my hand. Before I started to think I dropped the card on the ground. And then, in one second she was gone.

I woke up in the hospital with mother and father behind me. It was so hard to describe what just had happened. But I understood one thing, Sofia would never let me be with another girl in my life.
